Accutane for acne

Accutane was originally designed as a treatment for severe acne and was never intended to be used as a treatment for minor or moderate cases. Once you find a dermatologist that can show you the options for the skin treatment that you want, the benefits as well as the side effects to using Accutane with them. Effects and risks associated with the drug outweigh the benefits in mild cases. Accutane is a vitamin a derived medication that is used not only treating severe cases of acne.  Accutane is used  for some forms of cancer also. It requires a doctor's prescription for its use, and is taken as a pill.

Accutane can help people with severe inflammatory acne for smoother and cleaner skin with regular use over a couple of months or longer. There may be minor side effects such as mild joint pain, headaches or dry lips. However, when you find a dermatologist he or she can inform you that Accutane does have some serious side effects as well, including birth defects if the mother takes the medication, depression,  hair loss, back pain, red eyes,  suicide, abortions,  heart attack, antisocial behavior,  skin low vision problems, dry eyes, tinnitus or ringing in the ears, liver damage, low white blood cell count, erectile dysfunction,  so we have to watch and see what a person gets for side effects when taking this medication.  As a result, it is heavily regulated by the federal government.

The Accutane works by preventing the body's sebaceous glands to produce oil, which is very effective in reducing acne, but also reduces the body of the molecules that keeps  water to help skin, eyes, scalp , and the joints lubricated.

In conclusion you have to work with your dermatologist to see what side effects you get while taking this medication for your severe acne problem.
